Humility for my Kids

What does it mean to malign no one? Can't I just tell the truth? I don't know y'all... today's verse speaks to my heart as well as to my desire to instill godliness into my children. But it must first be on our hearts......

Father I pray for humility for each of my children. Let them not think more highly of themselves than they ought, but with sober judgment. Let them not put on false humility which is still pridefulness, but let them always view themselves through Your lens. The view that they are important in Your kingdom and have a special ministry to Your people according to Your calling. I pray they would be teachable and trust in You. Keep them for maligning anyone. Make them uncontentious and gentle.
Titus 3:2 to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.

My grandmother values truth/honesty over not maligning and she is NOT a pleasant person to be around. It's a good thing to be 99% quiet and gentle, salt and light, and to save that 1% for the lug heads that just won't hear it unless you put a little sass into it.
