What's Up with Huckabee and Schools?

Good morning all.. hope you had a good weekend.

This week we will be looking at Keeping Your Vows and praying for our children to be faithful.

I know that like me you were probably curious after the SC debate whether Huckabee is a good choice for the homeschooling family.

I dug a little bit into this and have some additional information.

From his campaign literature:

"I have been a strong, consistent supporter of the rights of parents to home school their children, of creating more charter schools, and of public school choice."

From Kevin Tracy's Blog

There’s a saying out there that, “A Lie Repeated Often Enough Becomes Truth.” Well, when it comes to Huckabee’s alleged opposition to school vouchers, that certainly appears to be the case. I had the opportunity to ask Governor Huckabee about what I thought was his opposition to school vouchers during a conference call today. Needless to say, I felt like a Mitt Romney when he told us that he wasn’t opposed to school vouchers and that states who wanted to use the voucher system should have every right to do so.

"Because Arkansas was a rural state, the vouchers wouldn’t have worked as well as in other more densely populated states. He also explained that the system would have required private and Christian schools to educate students with vouchers even if that voucher didn’t cover the entire cost of the student’s education. If that had happened in Arkansas, many of the private schools in the state would have been bankrupted.

“Mitt Romney the other night said he loves mandates. I don’t. I hate them.”
