For anyone dealing with Alzheimer's Type dementia this book is extremely helpful.
Also there is lots of information at this site.
As I have written before, I view Alzheimer's as a gift. I have a relationship with my mom now, that I never had before, because she is able to relate to me in the present and not in reference to her past. She doesn't have any baggage any more. She relates to me based on the love she is shown.
It is an amazing thing to see God's grace played out in the life of a person. I am thankful for this opportunity.
As you read this, you may be dealing with a parent who has dementia. My biggest fear before diagnosis was that mom or my dad would get hurt. It was a valid fear. The crisis that occurred served as a catalyst for the ability to care for my mom.
What is your biggest fear?
