And no I am not talking about my children! Me. Me. I am talking about me!
I am reading this book called Is There Life After Housework? It has made me realize that 90% of my problem with keeping my home clean is procrastination.
I believe that I procrastinate about some chores because I have this false belief that somehow I am not really supposed to have to clean.
What I mean by this is this belief that we are all free to do exactly what we want when we want to.
And guess what? I don't want to. Do housework that is.
This whole "entitlement" generation has given us this false sense of I am better and worth more and am too valuable to have to do things I don't like.
I have to say that I have made a lot of progress in being a homemaker.. but it has taken me 16 years. I should have already known and had this stuff down BEFORE I got married. But I am learning as it becomes necessary.
Believe me, when 8 people are living in a house, it becomes necessary!
So what is your housework complaint? Post it here and then be prepared to discuss why part of our calling is home "work."

There have been many times over the last few years that I have forced myself to do some of the kids' chores. Why, you ask?
Because, I began to see those jobs as extremely distasteful, since I never did them anymore.
Just this past week, I have scrubbed a toilet, emptied the dishwasher, washed dishes, vacuumed, and a couple other things I can't remember right now.
I have to keep reminding myself that one day, I will be doing it all again! Unless I can convince the grandkids to do it for money!! LOL!!
Dawn
I hate how fast the dirt & dust bunnies accumulate. Sweeping, dusting and vacuuming do not get done as often as they should around here. Oh, and I hate cleaning the bathroom. But I've negotiated that into my husband's list of tasks. ;-)
