Challenge Update

I was able to walk, have quiet time and pray this morning! What a victory. Just wanted to do a quick update on the Challenge! I am only doing 2 goals per section because any more would be way overwhelming.

Today I am working on Spiritual, Marriage, Physical goals:

Spiritual Goals
1. To be able to listen to God's voice.
action point: Intentional, consistent quiet time and prayer walking.
2. To read and study the book of James and teach its principles to my children this year.
action point: Work on this every day. Read through James 2-3 times a week. Make lesson plans for the children based on what I am learning. To talk about what I am learning. Think about what I am learning. Live what I am learning. Apply what I am learning.

Marriage Goals
1. To be intentional in making time for and spending time with Chris.
action point: Scheduled Date night get togethers with friends and Scheduled time alone with Chris on the calendar. Family dinner every night possible. (related to child rearing) Work on being consistent with the children and teach them not to interrupt so that Chris and I can spend 15-20 minutes together when he gets home to catch up and for me to give him my full attention. 2. For my mindset about serving be set up with him to be the filter that all other decisions are made from. For example, should I serve in VBS? Instead of thinking of how I could help I should think of how this would further his ministry, what is his vision for ministry, how is God working through him and how can I serve in way that will glorify my husband thereby glorifying God?
action point: Retrain my mind to stop and think through every decision and not do things mindlessly... I need suggestions on this one.

Physical Goals
1. To lose 47 lbs in the next 24 weeks.
action point: weight watchers online, an accountability partner, one weigh or another blog
2. To walk every day for 40 minutes to and hour.
action point: Get out of bed. Walk. No excuses.

Okay. Hope everyone has a good day! Onward and upward!

Do you have an MP3 player? If so I can mail you the MP3 Audio book CD for "created to be his helpmeet" it's the entire book on cd but playable only on MP3 or really new CD players. Anyway, you could theoretically listen to that while you walk or something. I think that would give you good action examples of how to better relate, honor, reverence Chris. Just the two weeks Scott had home were entirely more peaceful and really, easy, because of my putting into practice the theories from that book.
