Good Point

My friend pointed out very rightly that valuing "truth" above humility can lead to hurtful things.

I will clarify yesterday's statement "What does it mean to malign no one? Can't I just tell the truth? I don't know y'all... today's verse speaks to my heart as well as to my desire to instill godliness into my children. But it must first be on our hearts......"

This was tongue in cheek, because our natural inclination is to use the excuse that we are "telling the truth" instead of protecting our brother or sister.

I believe that there are instances when this is necessary, but as a rule, we can keep quiet and believe the best in good conscience without maligning another.

Much better to go to a brother or sister in private and speak to them about something truly biblical, than to malign.
