Lose Your Life

Matthew 16: 24-25

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it."

When I think about this passage I think about how all encompassing our job as parents is... are we willing to do whatever Christ wants in order to build up His kingdom, live His way... raise His children as they are entrusted to our care? What does it mean to lose your own life for the sake of another?

Father, please give me Your vision, not my own. Help me to lose my life and spend it on what You have for me... for eternal purposes... help me to teach and train my children.. no matter what the cost.
