I have been thinking a lot about Monica's ongoing posts on having a clean heart. I do think a simpler life contributes to an ability to concentrate on God's priorities... which are different depending on your season of life.
Right now, I am a wife, mother, daughter and teacher. My priorities are God, husband, children, mother and then church. I must take the time to pray and plan. I must make sure that I am showing love, modeling obedience and keeping an orderly home.
The thing that I struggle with the most, is keeping a clean home in the midst of eight people living in it. The less stuff that is here, the easier it is.
I have been continually asking God's help with this... and He has been faithful.
Right now we are adding a mother-in-law suite onto our home for my mother to come live with us. This is a joyful time and we are very excited about her coming.
Now our routine will be changing again. I will be by necessity home most of the time. I will have respite on Bible Study mornings and Sunday mornings, but otherwise will be a Worker at Home.
Please pray for our family as we work to purge out unnecessary things... and pray that God will expose heart issues and make us deal with them. Pray for my mother that we will be able to orient her to her new environment when she moves in. That will be the biggest challenge.
I am thankful for the opportunity for God to prune me right now. What pruning has God been doing in your life?

Charlotte - there is a lot to think about in those two words: clean heart - isn't there?!
I enjoyed reading your thoughts on this and know that God is really working on me in so many areas of having a clean heart. It is amazing how much that encompasses.
